Anthropic rolled out a new /design command for Claude Code that lets you generate UI mockups right in your terminal.

Anthropic dropped this early research preview on August 17, 2026, for both the CLI and Desktop versions of Claude Code.
You just type /design followed by a prompt, and Claude generates multiple UI artboards for you to look at.
Once you pick a design, you can edit it visually and then tell Claude to write the actual code for your project.
The feature runs on Anthropic's Artifacts system, linking their visual Claude Design tool with their coding agent.
