The near-total ban applies to kids aged 6 to 13 and kicks off in late August 2026.
Students in grades 8 to 10 can only use AI if a trained teacher is watching them.
Older students aged 17 to 19 are actually encouraged to use AI to prepare for real jobs.
The government is also pushing new laws to buy more physical textbooks instead of digital tablets.
This follows Norway's 2024 school smartphone ban, which helped improve grades and lower mental health issues.
