Microsoft just baked agentic AI straight into Windows.

Not a chatbot you open when you're bored actual AI agents that see what's on your screen, handle tasks without you asking, and decide whether to run locally or hit the cloud.

This is the operating system becoming intelligent.

But wait, there's more:

  • Google gave Gemini agents their own email addresses and workspace storage

  • A solo dev just cloned Adobe's entire Creative Suite using Rust and Claude

I’m Alex. Welcome to L8R by Innov8.

Let’s dive deep.

In today’s post:
  • Microsoft bakes agentic AI into Windows itself

  • Google's new Gemini agents get their own email addresses

  • Solo dev clones Adobe's entire suite with Rust and Claude

Windows Just Became an AI Command Center

Microsoft is completely changing how your PC works by baking AI agents right into the Windows operating system.

Instead of just chatting with a bot, your computer will now do your tasks for you in the background.

They call it "Windows Hybrid Intelligence," and the big reveal happened on October 7, 2026.

The details:
  • Windows will now automatically choose whether to run AI tasks on your local computer or in the cloud to keep things fast and private.

  • A new feature called Autopilot will work on your tasks even when you step away from the keyboard.

  • Microsoft teamed up with NVIDIA to build the new Surface Laptop Ultra, which is powered by a special RTX Spark chip made just for AI agents.

  • To keep your data safe, Microsoft built Execution Containers into Windows 11 24H2 so AI agents cannot mess with your core system files.

Why it matters:
  • Operating systems are no longer just passive screens waiting for you to click.

  • Windows is becoming an active worker that gets things done for you.

  • Microsoft is doing this to beat rivals like Meta and Perplexity by making the PC the most secure place for AI agents to live.

💡 L8R's Take:
  • This is the death of the traditional desktop.

  • If Microsoft pulls this off, we will stop opening apps and just tell our PCs what to do.

  • Every other tech company should be terrified of this deep OS integration.

Google Gives AI Its Own Email Address

Google just turned AI from a simple chatbot into a full-time digital coworker.

They launched a new Gemini agent that can work on complex tasks for days at a time.

The crazy part is these bots get their own email addresses, calendars, and Google Drive space.

The details:
  • Google Cloud announced the universal Gemini agent at their Gemini at Work event on October 8, 2026.

  • These agents get their own Workspace identities like '@agents.company.com' to send emails and schedule meetings.

  • You give the agent a big goal, and it plans the steps, works for hours or days, and brings back the final result.

  • The system uses a smart router to pick the best AI model for the job, including Google's Gemini and Anthropic's Claude.

  • The agents can plug into tools outside of Google, like Microsoft 365, Slack, and Salesforce.

Why it matters:
  • We are moving past AI that just answers questions.

  • This launch makes AI a real member of your team. By giving agents their own storage and email, they can work without you holding their hand.

  • This changes how companies will manage big projects and daily tasks.

💡 L8R's Take:
  • Giving a bot an email address sounds small, but it is a massive shift in how we work.

  • Soon, you will be CCing an AI on your project threads and letting it do the heavy lifting.

Your SOC 2, handled end to end with AI agents.

Enterprise buyers won’t put your product near their customer data without a SOC 2 report. Twenty-one state privacy laws now hold them accountable for the vendors they share data with, so their diligence lands on you.

Sprinto gets you audit ready in 14 days, across three working sessions. AI agents connect your stack, collect the evidence auditors ask for, and close the gaps as they appear. You approve, they execute.

Sprinto also answers the security questionnaires your buyers send, using the same evidence base, so security reviews stop holding up deals.

No compliance hire. No consultant. Your auditor signs off.

One Guy Uses AI to Build Free Adobe Clones

A solo developer just dropped a massive bomb on Adobe's business model.

Brandon Thomas used Claude Opus 5.5 to build seven free, open-source apps that copy tools like Photoshop and Premiere.

He calls the suite ArtCraft, and it aims to kill expensive software subscriptions for good.

The details:
  • The ArtCraft suite has seven tools, including PhotoCraft and FilmCraft, to replace Adobe's biggest apps.

  • Thomas built the whole thing in native Rust code with help from Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5.

  • The software is totally free, open-source, and works right now on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

  • It is built for AI, meaning AI agents can control the apps directly to edit your files.

  • The tools launched in early October 2026 and are still in the alpha stage with plenty of bugs.

Why it matters:
  • Adobe just paid a big $150 million fine in 2026 for trapping users in tricky subscriptions.

  • People are tired of renting their tools forever.

  • This project shows how fast AI can help one person build massive software.

  • It threatens the whole idea of paying monthly for creative apps.

💡 L8R's Take:
  • I am totally here for this. Adobe has squeezed creators for money for years.

  • ArtCraft is glitchy right now, but AI will help the community fix those bugs fast.

  • The days of expensive software monopolies are ending.

🚀 Quick L8R Summary

  • Windows Hybrid Intelligence: Microsoft is baking agentic AI directly into Windows so your PC can actually do things for you, not just chat.

  • Gemini Agents: Google Cloud's new Gemini agents get their own workspace identities and can run multi-day tasks without you babysitting them.

  • ArtCraft: A solo dev used Rust and Claude to build a free, open-source Adobe Creative Suite replacement in record time.
